A wounded Marine in Walter
Reed Army Medical Center receives one card.
Many, many years ago, school children, clubs, civil organizations, church groups,
etc. would send Christmas cards and little gifts to the wounded, disabled and ill men and women in military
hospitals and the veterans hospitals. It's a shame that so many Americans have forgotten.
It does not have to be Christmas for these little signs of
appreciation to be sent to our military and veterans hospitals.

This morning on the FOX morning news/talk show, there was a story about COL North and COL Hunt (both members of the
FOX news staff) visiting
wounded US military service members at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
They were talking to
a Marine, Joshua Sparling, who was recently wounded in Iraq, now recovering. On the wall next to his bed was a
single card that said "I hope you die Marine", sent by some anti-war/anti-US puke.
It was the only card that this brave
kid had received. True to form, he hung it up on the wall next to his bed and said it was his inspiration to recover,
rehab and get back to his unit as soon as possible.
Both the Colonels and the FOX news people thought this kid was an inspiration
and certainly deserving better than a one time "die" card.
FOX put out his name and address at Walter Reed for the any
viewers who would like to send him a card of their own. (UPDATE:
Joshua asks that cards be sent to other hospitalized military veterans. Please see below.)

What can government officials charge Michael Crook with? (If anything...)
His actions are not examples of Free Speech.
If there is no law, there should be.
America's men and women in uniform should not be attacked in this manner, especially in time of war.
Since Michael Crook is intentionally trying to destroy the morale of our troops, he's actually supporting our enemy.
In Abe Lincoln's Civil War days, Crook would have been thrown in prison.
Maybe the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs can set up a bill to protect
our military against crap like this in Time of War...

I contacted the soldier's (I believe he is Army, not
Marines) ward nurse and also spoke yesterday with a vet who had visited Joshua Sparling. The response has been outstanding
and his room is full of supportive cards and messages.

Crook, the troop-smearing, cop-bashing, white supremacist sicko, is claming responsibility for the despicable death-wish greeting
card received by injured soldier Joshua Sparling at Walter Reed Army Hospital. Recall that the card was signed "Miguel." Crook
also claims that he sent similar letters to VFW halls across the country, as well as to the Veteran's Hospital in Syracuse.
