Giving candy and toys to Vietnamese orphans is a start.
Maybe some real, American celebrity humanitarians will come forward to highlight the Human Rights Violations in Vietnam
today. The Vietnamese People need freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom to vote and especially freedom
of religion now.
The
Vietnamese need actual freedoms rather than publicity stunts for Vietnamese State-Run Newspapers...

Pitt and Jolie visit Vietnam orphans
HANOI (Reuters) - Hollywood superstars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie called at an orphanage during their surprise visit to southern Vietnam, a state-run newspaper
said on Saturday. (How would a surprise visit have
a Vietnamese state-run newspaper there, unless it was a planned surprise-visit. JC)
The couple gave candies and toys to children at Tam Binh orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City and had lunch there
on Friday, Nguyen Van Trung, director of the charity facility told the Saigon Giai Phong (Liberation Saigon) daily.
Newspapers, which on Friday morning showed front-page photos of Pitt and Jolie riding a scooter in Ho
Chi Minh City streets without helmets, said on Saturday their photographers had failed to capture any moment of the couple
on their second day in town.
The two arrived in Vietnam from Cambodia on Thursday during what appeared to be a break from filming "A
Mighty Heart" in India.
On Thursday night they dined at a Vietnamese restaurant. One newspaper said they would leave Vietnam on
Saturday.

Terrorists Should Never Be Allowed To Win. Punishing "Sons of Americans!"
was a terrorist death cry during the Vietnam War, and it will be a terrorist death cry in Iraq, if we leave too early.
American politicians should do everything possible to make sure this does not happen again. When Americans leave Iraq,
someone should be there to replace us... And it shouldn't be the terrorists!
LEARN FROM HISTORY WHY AMERICA WAS FIGHTING
IN VIETNAM.
Even today, the Vietnamese People are still fighting terrorists... But
now, these same terrorists are in charge of their government.

The World The Massacre of Dak Son
Dec. 15, 1967
The worst atrocity yet committed in the Viet Nam war (see pictures opposite) began its course last week when a handful
of Viet Cong (terrorists) crawled up to the wall-and-wire perimeter of the hamlet of Dak Son, some
75 miles north east of Saigon. The V.C. called for the hamlet's inhabitants to surrender and come out. When they got no takers,
they withdrew, hurling behind them their ultimate epithet: "Sons of Americans!" Earlier in the day, villagers had reported
to their 140-man defense force that some Viet Cong were roaming through the surrounding fields. But that was hardly unusual,
or cause...
Atrocity at Dak Son
In its December 15, 1967 issue, Time
magazine described what it called the "worst atrocity yet committed in the Viet Nam war." Dak Son was a hamlet of some 2,000
Montagnard refugees about 75 miles northeast of Saigon. The Communists were intensely interested in Dak Son because the refugees
had months earlier fled from life under the Viet Cong (terrorists). Lest others get the same idea,
the Communists decided to make an example of the Montagnards who, Time noted, "were completely unarmed...." On December
5, 1967, "a handful of Viet Cong crawled up to the wall-and-wire perimeter of the hamlet" and called for its inhabitants "to
surrender and come out. When they got no takers, they withdrew," but returned and launched their attack around midnight, "pouring
machine-gun, mortar and rocket fire into Dak Son."
The 600 Viet Cong assembled outside the
hamlet "were armed with 60 flame-throwers. Yelling and screaming, they attacked the town, shooting countless streams of liquid
fire that lit up the night and terrified by its very sight a people who had only recently discovered the use of matches."
Most of the victims were women and children.
The Viet Cong "were not intent on a military
victory but on the cold-blooded, monumental massacre of the helpless Montagnards." To that end, "long ugly belches of flame
lashed out from every direction, garishly illuminating the refugee hamlet and searing and scorching everything in their path.
The shrieking refugees still inside their houses were incinerated. Many of those who had time to get down into dogholes beneath
the houses were asphyxiated. Spraying fire about in great whooshing arcs, the Viet Cong set everything afire: trees, fences,
gardens, chickens, the careful piles of grain from the annual harvest. Huts that somehow survived the holocaust were leveled
with grenades. Then the hoses of fire were sprayed down inside the exposed burroughs. Later, the Communists incinerated a
patch of the main town just for good measure."
Only when they ran out of flame-thrower
fuel did the Viet Cong resort to guns. "Forcing 160 of the survivors out of their dogholes," Time continued, "they
shot 60 of them to death on the spot. Then, finally abandoning the smoking ruins of Dak Son at dawn, they dragged away with
them into the jungle another 100 of the survivors."
Some survivors were left behind. Numb with
horror, they "stumbled out to look for wives, children and friends. They held handkerchiefs and cabbage leaves to their faces
to ward off the smell of burnt flesh that hung over everything. One by one the dogholes were emptied, giving up the fire-red,
bloated, peeling remains of human beings. Charred children were locked in ghastly embrace, infants welded to their mother's
breasts. The victims were almost all women and children. The dead adults were covered with scorched mats and blankets salvaged
from the ashes, the bodies of babies laid in bamboo baskets. One man lost 13 members of his family."

STILL HAPPENING SINCE THE TERRORISTS WON.

Thank you very much! We honor the men and women, whose names
are on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial 'Wall', by honoring those who fought alongside America's Vietnam Veterans.
The Montagnards fought bravely and honorably for the freedom of the Vietnamese People... And they continue to fight (peacefully)
for the freedom of the Vietnamese People.
Today's government of Vietnam is cracking down on
all freedoms of all Vietnamese. Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press and Freedom of
Religion are dreams (And Goals) of the Vietnamese People.
The Vietnamese People have not had these Freedoms,
since America left back in 1975.
Freedom to Elect their government is also a priority.
Even the Iraqis have this right now.
TODAY: VIETNAMESE CHRISTIANS ARRESTED, TORTURED,
KILLED AND HANGED
I guess things haven't changed much since March 1971 and December
1967.

I really appreciate this one especially, Jack. I have created a site at my Koreanvet.com
Domain free of charge for our North English Christian Church and I am going to put this up there. This is something
EVERY CHRISTIAN, VETERAN, and AMERICAN needs to get involved in.
God Bless you. GK
An average American can help stop these prosecutions from happening in the future.
Please contact your federal congressional leaders and demand Human Rights for all Vietnamese. It's not about
politics; it's about human life... America does not need another trading partner that does this to its people.
When you see a "Made in Vietnam" stamp on a product, please remember how its maker is treated by his or her government.

With President George Bush still in (Asia) Vietnam, I think it's perfect time for him to negotiate
this don't you think? Mr. President? For the ones that are still alive.
I have brought this up many times about human rights there, and I was glad that they released
the other group just before the President visit. They are pretty lucky. Not very many escape the punishment
from the communists.
I wish this source of new information surface more often on the mainstream media, so that the people
know and understand how the communists operate. In this way, they would think twice before they would so quickly support
them the the like of George Sorror who want nothing less than turn this country into socialist. Think about that!!!
So before any one criticize of the war and our military, think about freedom of speech. In ' 71, we were okay.
I was there, I should know. Only after April '75 is when we started having trouble when the communist taken over, and
stole all the properties and use their powers to get everything they can get their hands on. Once they learned our
way of live. They began to corrupt from the lower rank up to the top even at the airport. You have to pay off for
every little thing to every body. How's that for a start?

government, namely; confiscation of their ancestral lands, Christian religious repression, torture, killings and imprisonment.
To date over 350 Degar prisoners remain in Vietnamese prisons for merely standing up for their human rights, for spreading
Christianity or for fleeing to Cambodia repression inside the Central Highlands is continuing at an alarming rate ahead of

the region. Hundreds of villagers report soldiers stationed at their villages. Further, in the last few weeks and months,
the Vietnamese security police have confiscated mobile cell phones from numerous Montagnard Degar people, often beating and
torturing these people. Arrests, torture and one reported killing have occurred in the last few weeks. Some villages report
that troops occupy the village while others report soldiers stationed surrounding the village. In some cases smaller groups
of soldiers have been stationed at the village who are prepared to radio for reinforcements. The villagers report the soldiers

and told the villagers Moi was dead and hanging from a tree about 1km from the village. The whole village rushed to where
the police said his body was and found Moi hanging on a tree tied up with Vietnamese military issue shoestrings. Moi’s

Vietnamese officials had long hated Moi because he was a Christian who refused to join the official church.

Vietnamese Democracy Activists Under Lockdown on Eve of Bush Trip
to Vietnam
(Where Is Jane Fonda, when the Vietnamese People
really need her?)
http://public-issues-news.blogspot.com/2006/11/vietnamese-democracy-activists-under.html
SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was released
by the Viet Tan (Vietnam Reform Party):
Days before the APEC summit convenes in Hanoi, the Vietnamese communist
authorities have attempted to isolate and harass key democracy activists. "No Foreigners," "No Pictures," "Restricted Area
- No Passing" signs have gone up near the homes of leading dissidents. To prevent foreign reporters from contacting the activists,
the public security forces have set up equipment to jam mobile phone reception in several locations.
Attorney Le Thi Cong Nhan, a labor activist and spokesperson for the
unsanctioned Vietnam Progression Party, was given a verbal order by police not to leave her home, use her telephone, meet
with foreigners, or have more than two people in her house. According to neighbors, the gate outside the young attorney's
home has been locked. Days earlier Le Thi Cong Nhan was fired by her employer under pressure from the public security.
Attorney Nguyen Van Dai, chairman of the human rights committee of the
newly formed Alliance for Democracy and Human Rights in Vietnam, has been subjected to repeat interrogations by the Division
A24 of the public security agency since November 9.
Dr. Pham Hong Son, a former political prisoner, has been the victim of
two staged traffic accidents. On November 4, while riding his motorcycle with his two children, a high speed motorcycle came
up from behind and collided with Dr. Son. After the collision, the unidentified motorcycle sped up and disappeared with its
motorists who were wearing masks. On November 9, Dr. Son encountered another high speed motorcycle which almost caused him
to lose control of his vehicle. As that unidentified motorcycle sped away, another came up and the driver shouted threatening
insults to Dr. Son.
Mai Xuan Thuong park, located in central Hanoi, has been the gathering
place for hundreds of people at a time protesting government corruption. Many of the protesters have come from far away provinces
to seek redress for land seized by government officials. On November 9, security police emptied the park of demonstrators.
Many of the these individuals are currently under "temporary detention."
The demands for political change in Vietnam have become a grassroots
social movement. Viet Tan calls on foreign leaders and media to visit with the democracy activists and seek out Vietnamese
citizens calling for social justice. With Vietnam under the international spotlight, this is the time to engage in a dialogue
with the Vietnamese people.
